The Voodoo Gnostic Michael Bertiaux is a very unusual book, and all new to Italy, which is based on the little-known esoteric system of Bertiaux Paul Michael , born in 1935 and still living, which continues the tradition of a company initiatory secret, La Couleuvre Noire (Black Snake).Bertiaux, born into a family with no prejudices that encouraged the esoteric and philosophical education, he lived for years in Haiti, where he was educated in the various branches of the Voodoo.Haiti was dead Pasqualis Martinez, founder of the Elect Cohen, principles on which is based the Black Snake. Then, during a trip to Japan, he came in contact with the spirits of Shinto Kami through Kammamori master. He was thus able to notice of correlation between the loa of Voodoo and the Kami.
In the sixties he founded in the United States the Monastery of the Seven Rays to teach Afro-Atlantean tradition, which would have remained just the latest knowledge in Haiti.
The multiple skills in the various initiatory and religious traditions of Bertiaux pushed him to found the Voodoo Gnostic, which mixes all his theories, drawing from an original system and very different from any other.His method is presented to us by Nera Luce, which recounts the experiences that led her, at a particular time of his life, with a “primordial appeal” to this address.
The system is very complex, but Nera Luce was able to bring the systematization used by Bertiaux in his monumental work Voudon Gnostic Workbook, where he gave exercises of increasing complexity to allow students to proceed in an orderly understanding each part before you move up a notch. To do this Nera Luce has mixed theoretical concepts (the basis of which no one can do without) and a practical knowledge, summarizes in 150 pages all the essential knowledge for an approach less confusing, that you can not call it “popular” for the depth and the thickness of the concepts of the language used.It an essay-manual that will definitely not be derived for all, but that will attract and surprise: those who love the Voodoo discover new dimensions and unexpected; those who follow Aleister Crowley can make parallels with Magick; those who deal with shamanism will find common points. And for fans of Lovecraft (which is often) a curiosity: in Black Snake exists a coven Lovecraftian inspired in her rites to the Cthulhu Mythos, created by Bertiaux in the belief that some of the entities with which it had entered into contact in line with those he had mentioned Lovecraft …
Nelle mie frequenti ricerche in rete mi sono imbattuta poco fa , domenica 14 agosto alle ore 6 del mattino, in questa recensione del libro che ho scritto sul Voodoo Gnostico.Nessuno mi aveva detto che questa recensione esisteva ne ero stata informata da chi la aveva scritta del fatto che la aveva pubblicata. Ma gli Spiriti mi hanno chiesto di cercare qualcosa ed ecco qui cosa ho trovato: La recensione di Devon Scott.

Il Voodoo gnostico di Michael Bertiaux è un libro molto insolito, e del tutto nuovo per l’Italia, che si basa sul sistema esoterico poco noto di Michael Paul Bertiaux, nato nel 1935 e tutt’ora vivente, che riprende la tradizione di una società iniziatica segreta, La Couleuvre Noire (il Serpente Nero).
Bertiaux, nato in una famiglia priva di pregiudizi che ne incoraggiò la formazione esoterica e filosofica, visse per anni ad Haiti, dove venne istruito nei vari rami del Voodoo.
Ad Haiti era morto Martinez de Pasqually, fondatore degli Eletti Cohen, sui quali principi si basa il Serpente Nero. In seguito, durante un viaggio in Giappone, venne in contatto con gli spiriti Kami dello Shintoismo tramite il maestro Kammamori. Ebbe così modo di accorgersi delle equivalenze tra i Loa del Voodoo e i Kami.
Negli anni Sessanta fondò negli Stati Uniti il Monastero dei Sette Raggi per insegnare la tradizione afro-atlantidea, della quale sarebbero rimaste le ultime conoscenze proprio ad Haiti.
Le molteplici competenze nelle diverse tradizioni iniziatiche e religiose di Bertiaux lo portarono a fondare il Voodoo Gnostico, che mescola tutte le sue teorie, traendone un sistema originale e molto diverso da qualsiasi altro.
Il suo metodo ci viene presentato da Nera Luce, che racconta le esperienze che l’hanno portata, in un particolare momento della sua vita, con un “richiamo primordiale” verso questo indirizzo.
Il sistema è molto complesso, ma Nera Luce è riuscita a riportare la sistematizzazione usata da Bertiaux nella sua monumentale opera Voudon Gnostic Workbook, dove ha dato esercizi di difficoltà crescente per permettere agli studenti di procedere ordinatamente comprendendo ogni parte prima di passare allo stadio superiore. Per fare questo l’Autrice ha mescolato nozioni teoriche (le basi di cui nessuno può fare a meno) a nozioni pratiche, condensando in 150 pagine tutte le conoscenze indispensabili per un approccio meno ostico, che non si può chiamare “divulgativo” per la profondità dei concetti e lo spessore del linguaggio usato.
Ne è derivato un saggio-manuale che sicuramente non sarà per tutti, ma che non mancherà di attirare e sorprendere: chi ama il Voodoo scoprirà dimensioni nuove e inaspettate; chi segue Aleister Crowley potrà fare paralleli con Magick; chi si occupa di sciamanesimo troverà punti in comune. E per i patiti di Lovecraft (che sono tantissimi) una curiosità: nel Serpente Nero esiste una congrega lovecraftiana che si ispira nei suoi riti ai Miti di Cthulhu, creata di Bertiaux nella convinzione che alcune delle entità con cui era entrato in contatto corrispondessero a quelle di cui aveva parlato Lovecraft…
